Street Line Dancing to WILDCATS GO! - Orchard Road, S'pore

Check this video out!

What a rush I got when I saw SOOOO many linedancers dancing to my 'baby' WILDCATS GO! at their Christmas line dance event in Orchard Road. Sends a warm fuzzy feeling straight through me LOL.

For the Youtube video, click here

The dance seems to have been well accepted across the Causeway judging from the many Youtube videos from Singapore and their comments. And also its appearance on a number of party dancelists.

There are also two videos from Penang posted by Mandy. Now, I wonder when or if ever this dance will be as well received in its own homeground (save for Mandy's group).

A google search also showed the dance being taught overseas (eg. Canada, etc) although no videos have been uploaded to view.

Many thanks to Gary (S'pore) for taking the video and also for emailing me the good news. My heartfelt thanks too to the instructors who chose to teach it as well as the Youtube channel users who uploaded the videos. THANKS! ;-)

I couldn't have asked for a better christmas present this year! :-D

Workshop with Amy Christian

Once in a while, when time permits, I attend a line dance workshop or two. This afternoon was one of those times and I especially made it a point to go because I've not seen Amy Christian for while. Wanted to say 'hi' and catch up.

As you can see from the photo, Sue was there too, and we took this pix specially for a mutual friend in Australia.

The day started off with fine weather but before the workshop could get underway it started to pour. And although a breeze was blowing, I could still feel the humidity climbing. After a dance or two, perspiration was clinging to my skin (not from the exertion) and my hair was drenched and lifeless. Urrgh.

But nothing keeps a line dancer down! Everyone gamely got onto the dance floor each time Amy started to teach a new dance. No one complained about the heat nor the humidity. Such great sports! All in all, we learnt 8 dances (but have forgotten most of them LOL!):

  1. YING YANG CHA (Niels Poulsen)
  2. MY NEXT LOVE (Niels Poulsen)
  3. LET'S BACHATA (Amy Christian-Sohn)
  4. KILLA (Raymond Sarlemijn, Michael Sastrowitomo, Eleni de Kok)
  5. NOTICE THE DANGER (Guyton Mundy & Jordan Lloyd)
  6. GOOD GOOD (Amy Christian-Sohn)
  7. WORK WORK WORK! (Amy Christian-Sohn)
  8. STING ME (Pam Leader & Ray Crum)
W O W!

Although my brain was saturated by the end of the workshop, I had a great time....catching up with Amy and friends and dancing, of course!

Thanks Amy for sharing and thanks Margaret for organising the workshop.

Please check with the relevant GX Manager for details.

For those of you who are curious as to what I'll be doing during the 2-week break or where I'll be heading for a holiday.....well, it's a break from teaching but not a holiday break. I'll be at home, doing some spring cleaning, spending some quality time with my children as it's their school holidays, going for a full medical which is long overdue and some down time for myself. But mostly spring cleaning.....so....work is still involved.

There'll be a weekend away but only for 3 brief days. Besides, when you go on a holiday with young children (those who are parents of young children will understand), it's not a break at all! You come home more tired than before you left! :-)

Happy Holidays!
