That's the title of my 2nd choreography. It's danced to Rihanna's Please Don't Stop The Music. And because it's such a catchy song and current too, there have been many line dances created to this song. However, I believe mine is the only phrased version....for the time being anyway.... :-)
The other dances to this song are: (1) DON'T STOP by Michael O'Shea - 64 counts Intermediate/Advance, 2 wall dance. (2) DON'T STOP (MAMA SE) by Barry Durand & Lilia Medina - 32 counts Beginner/Intermediate, 4 wall dance. (3) PLEASE DON'T STOP by David Spencer - 64 counts Intermediate, 2 wall dance. (4) PLEASE DON'T STOP (THE MUSIC) by Ross Brown - 32 counts, Beginner, 2 wall dance. (5) PUSH PLAY (by John Diembiec) - 32 counts, Intermediate, 4 wall dance.
That's quite a list.
My stepsheet is up on www.kickit.to/ld but I have yet to get it into Yipee! And there is no youtube to see either because the ladies whom I asked to 'demo' for me while I 'vidcam' them are all so...... camera shy ;-) Anyone want to volunteer? heh..heh...heh...
Don't forget! Tomorrow's Earth Hour 08. Do your part.
I was browsing through my friend's and ex-team mate's youtube channel when I came across a very interesting video among the many she had uploaded. It was the collage of our line dance team called the WILD WEST BABES. The team no longer exists as each member is busy with her career and/or family life, but we still keep in touch with each other whenever time permits. It was a great team!
I accidentally came across this while surfing youtube and I just had to share it here. Earth Hour is spearheaded and organised by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
The idea of Earth Hour is that one individual may not make a difference, but the cumulative effort of every individual on Earth can change the world and the course of global warming. Major cities around the world will turn off their lights at 8pm on 29 March 2008 for one whole hour.
The following script was extracted from Earth Hour's official webpage (http://www.earthhour.org/): "Createdto take a stand against the greatest threat our planet has ever faced, Earth Hour uses the simple action of turning off the lights for one hour to deliver a powerful message about the need for action on global warming.
This simple act has captured the hearts and minds of people all over the world. As a result, at 8pm March 29, 2008 millions of people in some of the world’s major capital cities, including Copenhagen, Toronto, Chicago, Melbourne, Brisbane and Tel Aviv will unite and switch off for Earth Hour."

I have heard of no such movement here in Malaysia, perhaps because people are still too wrapped up with the drama of our latest General Election. But I'm sure there are pockets of environmentally conscious groups here and there who will be participating in Earth Hour 08.
I'd like to propose that we Line Dancers support this movement and join the world this 29 March to turn out our lights for 1 hour. There are enough Line Dancers in this country to make some difference I believe.....however small.....but every success starts with small steps.
Perhaps we should spread the word to all dancers in Malaysia, and to all who love to dance.....then the movement would grow and gain momentum. It's a thought, don't you think?
If you're reading this post and feel that you can make a difference, or want to make a difference, spread the word......to your family, your friends, your dance kakis, your colleagues.....post it in your blogs.....do whatever you can to make this movement catch on in Malaysia (^<>^)/
I just saw it. The Born To Rock stepsheet is already up and available for downloading or printing at www.kickit.to/ld.
And the best part is, they've rewritten some parts of it to make it easier to read and understand. These people have got experience man. I am grateful to them for the improved version. A big thank you to the people at kickit.
Please note that I've decided to rename my dance BORN TO ROCK! instead of Viva La 60s.
I know some of you have gone in to view the video. Hope you like what you see. Anyway, I've already submitted the stepsheet to the three major websites: KICKIT, YIPEE & STEPSHEETINMOTION.
Let's see if this dance will make it to the dance floors. HAHAHA! ;-)
Recently I've taken some time out to try my hand at choreographing line dances. The following video is the result. My first choreography titled VIVA LA 60s.
I simply just love Elvis Presley's songs although I am not from that era (*hint* *hint*....not that old la). But since my parents are (from that era that is), I must have been subjected to these songs as a child and grew up to enjoy them.
The dance is categorised under Phrased Novelty, Intermediate level. Music is C'mon Everybody by Elvis Presley. Although it's labelled Intermediate, it's a very simple dance really. The phrasing just makes it require a little bit more memory work that's all :-)
